It’s that time of year many look forward to for months – putting up the Christmas tree and decorating homes for the festive season!
With December just a few days off, we have put together a list of the decorations you don’t want to miss out on this year.
Salisbury is full of independent businesses where you’ll find unique, quirky decorations that will make you the envy of friends and family this Christmas.
Walk into Casa Fina on Salisbury high street at this time of year and it’s like a Christmas wonderland! There are Nutcrackers, Christmas mice, nativity sets, festive candles and so much more!
If you’re looking for a keepsake, for yourself or a loved-one this Christmas, the Casa Fina Salisbury bauble (below) is perfect. It’ll take pride of place on any Christmas tree.
For all those Disney, Pixar or Marvel fans, head to Cool! Merchandise. They have a quirky range of character baubles that include Spider-Man, Beauty and the Beast, Harry Potter and Winne the Pooh. Check out the full range at their shop in the Cross Keys Shopping Centre. These ones always disappear pretty quickly!
You may need to keep this option out of reach of the children! Baubles filled with gin. Do we need to say more?! Find them at Artisan Wine & Spirit Co. On Winchester Street.
With the Christmas lights now on in The Close, Salisbury Cathedral is certainly looking and feeling festive! The gift shop is free to visitors and you’ll find a whole range of gifts and decorations to help prepare for Christmas this year. We love these Mummy and Daddy elves. There are a lot more options as well, including son and daughter as well as specific names.
Cat lover?! We think these Christmas cats are super cute. There will be a late-night opening event at the cathedral on December 15th - the perfect opportunity to pick up some decorations, gifts and see the Cathedral decked out for Christmas. More information on that can be found here.
These tree hangings are individually hand-pyrographed (where you produce a design by scorching the wood) and painted by JAK art. A beautiful and unique addition to any tree, especially the Christmas chameleon! Pick them up from Timber Treasures on the High Street.
The Letteroom is new to Salisbury, and they’ve arrived at the perfect time! As well as offering a range of ready-to-go Christmas decorations they also have some which you can personalise within the shop. Pick your design and add any names you like. You can see some of the designs below.
If you are wanting to buy a little something for a special someone, this adorable decoration will keep you in their heart and on their tree! The Letteroom can be found on St Thomas’ Square.
Another new shop, this time on the High Street, Bohemia also gives us more decoration options. Festive robins, skiing elves and Christmas dogs can all be found here.
You’ve got your tree ready, now it’s time to turn your attention to the furnishings too. Pure Comfort on Winchester Street has a range of Christmas cushions that will keep you and your guests comfy this festive season.
Now you have got your home looking festive, what about it smelling festive too?! These beautiful Christmas candles from Fisherton Mill on Fisherton Street do both. They look great and smell even better!
Salisbury has a wealth of independent and national shops that have everything you need this Christmas. It's been a tough few years for our businesses and shopping local this festive season really will help them.
