Shining a light on Salisbury’s creativity
Salisbury will shine bright this weekend, as the city’s first Window Wanderland continues.
Window Wanderland is a FREE magical outdoor gallery, that sees windows decorated in magical designs. Each window will be lit between 4.30pm and 10pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, enabling the designs to shine out onto the streets of Salisbury.
A leaflet with more information and a map of where to find the participants, is available from Salisbury's Information Centre, HSBC, Salisbury Arts Centre and Salisbury Library. Laugh it out
If you need some laughs this weekend, head to Salisbury Playhouse to see the wonderful Shaparak Khorsandi. You may have seen the comedian and author on TV shows, including Have I Got News for You, Loose Women and I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here (she was a contestant in 2017).
This Saturday 6th November, Shaparak brings her show, IT WAS THE 90s! to the Playhouse. Hear how she survived the 90s with its 'ladette' culture and partying. Christmas is coming
Kick-off the countdown to Christmas with Fisherton Mill’s annual Christmas Exhibition which opens on Saturday.
Simply Christmas includes something for everybody from paintings and illustrations to textiles and jewellery. everybody from paintings and illustrations, to textiles and jewellery. If you’re looking for that special Christmas present then look no further, the exhibition will be simply full of exciting and original gift ideas. 10am to 5pm each day until Christmas Eve. Free entry.
Arts and crafts in the Market Place
Salisbury Art Scene returns this Sunday, bringing more vibrant art, craft and music to the city centre.
The Market Place will be filled with exhibitors and stalls from 10am to 4pm, allowing artists to showcase their skills. An ideal place to also pick up some unique Christmas gifts!
Exhibitors this month include abstract painter Karen Welsh, watercolurist Lucinda Nicholas, wood turner, George Shapland and photographer Chris Lock.
There will also be music from the King’s of Lounge and Dry Martini.
If you are planning ahead for next week, Salisbury Cathedral will be the place to be as their Sarum Lights spectacular returns.
From 9th to 13th November, the event will see the Cathedral immersed in a light and sound show. If you missed out on tickets last year, book now!
