Salisbury's Weekend What's On 22/23 October

Our Traditional Original city is brimming with creativity this weekend.

With events that celebrate singing, showcase dramatic theatre and help to keep the children occupied – there is a lot to experience for all ages.

Here is the Experience Salisbury Weekend What’s On guide for 23rd and 24th October:

See it before it’s too late

Ian McDiarmid is an award-winning actor and he puts in a stellar performance in The Lemon Table, with The Guardian saying he is ‘outstanding’. This one-man show has laugh-out-loud moments, as well as tenderness that leaves the audience memorised. The play has been adapted from the novel by Julian Barnes and this is the first time it’s been performed. Saturday 23rd October is the last day to see it with a matinee and evening performance available. Book before you miss it!

Are you ready to celebrate voice?

The Celebrate Voice Festival kicked-off its 2021 programme earlier this week and over the next two weekends the festival will celebrate all types of singing, from opera to choral and jazz to cabaret!

Here are the events to try:

Saturday 23rd October

  • Rock The Tots present a fun and fabulous music event with an ‘Around The World’ theme for babies, toddlers, young children, and their adults!
  • Celebrate Voice is committed to supporting the growth of local choirs, and proud to showcase local talent this year with The Kate Edgar Singers
  • Trial by Jury has been referred to as 'probably the most successful British one-act operetta of all time'. Don't miss this remarkable performance of a Gilbert and Sullivan classic, with a seasoned cast in an unrivalled location of Salisbury’s Guildhall. There's also a sing-along performance on 30th October.

Sunday 24th October

  • As part of the celebration of well-being in 2021, Celebrate Voice is hosting a cosy Sunday morning of meditation, music and welcoming refreshment at a Sahaja Yoga session. Join them for a morning dedicated to your wellbeing! Click here for more information
  • Award-winning comedy impressionist and classically-trained singer, Jess Robinson, is the star of Spitting Image and you can see her and her fabulous live band for original songs, spot-on celebrity impressions and stunning vocal fireworks
  • Following on from the sell-out success of previous acclaimed Celebrate Voice Operas, this year the festival presents Verdi’s, La Traviata, one of the greatest love stories ever told in opera and a work of such enduring power that it draws audiences and performers to it again and again.

Jess Robinson is ready for Celebrate Voice                                     Rock The Tots!

In partnership with Salisbury City Council, all Celebrate Voice Festival events will take place in Salisbury’s Guildhall. Tickets are limited, so book now!
