Salisbury's Weekend What's On 30/31 October
It’s Halloween weekend, and if you’re brave enough to venture out, you’ll find some ghoulishly good events in Salisbury!
Whether you want family-friendly frighteners or a child free evening of fun, you can find it in our modern medieval city.
Here are the events we think you should experience in Salisbury this weekend, 30th and 31st October:
Spooky Salisbury!
Can you handle Salisbury’s scary side?! On both Saturday and Sunday this weekend there will be a series of 'Classic Ghost Walks' and 'Family Frighteners Walks'.
The Family Frighteners are specifically geared for families and adults with children of Primary school age. All tickets do need to be booked in advance through the Salisbury Information Centre on Fish Row. £10 for adults and £5 for children. There are limited tickets left, so be quick!
Halloween fun
The Salisbury Musuem is making sure all the family is entertained this weekend. They have a half term Halloween Trail which will run from 10am to 5pm Saturday and Sunday. Explore the museum, answer spooky questions, draw your own monster and complete the word search to claim a sticker!

Hogwarts comes to life!
All this week, Salisbury Cathedral has held open sessions at their magical library and on Saturday they culminate in a special ‘Library Day’. Visitors will once again be able to access the library space, which holds 10,000 volumes (one even includes a dead mouse!!). There will also be talks, a specially themed children’s book trail and the chance to have a go at calligraphy and making a bookmark.
Booking isn't needed and there are no additional charges to take part as the event is included with your entry tickets to the Cathedral. Salisbury residents with SP1, SP2 or Laverstock postcodes receive free entry with proof of residence.

It’s getting spooky down on the farm
River Bourne Community Farm’s week-long Halloween themed activities come to an end on Sunday 31st October. Head to Laverstock for ‘Hunt the Pumpkins’ trail (£3 per child), bouncy castle and mini striker. The kids will also love the farm favourites, including goats, donkeys, pigs and alpacas! The Halloween fun will run 10am to 1pm.

Halloween trail at the Old George Mall
It’s not just shopping opportunities you’ll find in the Old George Mall this weekend. Drop by for a day of activities and more importantly, secret visits from all-time character favourites – you definitely don’t want to miss out! The event is free and is being held on Saturday 30th October between 11am and 4pm.
Carve it up at Salisbury Musuem
Howard Phipps is a local wood engraver whose work is deeply rooted in the beautiful downland landscape of Wiltshire and Dorset. Not only can you see his work in the Cutting It Fine exhibition at Salisbury Museum, but this Saturday 30th October Howard will also be at the museum giving a wood engraving demonstration. It’s on from 2pm to 4pm. No booking required. Normal admission prices to the museum apply.
Make it before it ends!
The Makers’ Tale exhibition at Salisbury Art Centre comes to an end on Saturday 30th October so, if you haven’t seen it, make sure you do before it goes!
The exhibition takes a look at crafting and how it is such an integral part of contemporary life. The artists present new insights into craft methods which they have found to have a deep link to our history, yet are still connected to today.

Last chance to Celebrate Voice
This is the final weekend of the 2021 Celebrate Voice Festival. Although most of their shows are sold out, you can still find limited tickets for Trial by Jury. Their Gala performance of the show last week was a bit hit and this Saturday night is a version where the audience gets to sing-along! Trial by Jury has been referred to as 'probably the most successful British one-act operetta of all time'. There are very limited tickets left to see the Gilbert and Sullivan classic, so book soon!
Celebrate Voice this year is partnership with Salisbury City Council, with all events taking place in Salisbury’s Guildhall.
