Salisbury Pride, Foodie Sunday, a TV comedy favourite and camels!!! There is a lot to entertain across Salisbury this weekend. Where will you end up?
Here are some of the events we think you will enjoy this weekend, 4th and 5th September:
Foodie Sunday and The Great Salisbury Bake Off!
Taste Salisbury, our ten-day celebration of food and drink, is brought to a close on Sunday with Salisbury City Council’s Foodie Sunday! The food and drink extravaganza includes local food producers and suppliers, food demos, tastings, local chefs, the Salisbury Vegan Fair and live music. All this will be taking place in the Market Place from 10am to 4pm.
Plus, if you are a keen baker and want to show off your skills, make sure you take part in The Great Salisbury Bake Off! If you want to impress the judges take your cake to Salisbury Guildhall by 12pm on the day to enter in either the Under 16’s or Over 16’s category. Good luck!

Salisbury Pride 2021
Salisbury Pride UK Festival returns to Queen Elizabeth Gardens this Saturday. Although pre-sale tickets are sold out, you can turn up on the day for free entry. There will be a Main Stage with live music and entertainment throughout the day, with food and bars which is new for 2021! This year the star act is X Factor’s Lloyd Daniels, plus there will be lots more musical entertainment from Evolution Choir, Spire Samba, Funk Soul Sista and Marina E – just to name a few! Join in from 11am to 10pm.
Summer Fete
There might be an unusual sight in the Cathedral Close this weekend... camels!! The exotic animals will be part of The Summer Fete, which is being held at the Bishop’s Garden on Sunday. It’s in aid of the Salisbury Sudan Medical Link and you will be able to find plants, bric-a-brac, cakes, books and DVDs, preserves, cards, competitions, games, vintage cars and bottle tombola there. Plus, make the most of the glorious setting with teas by the river. Music on the day comes from the Navy Larks Choir and Amesbury Town Band. Sunday 2pm to 5pm.
Threads Through Creation
Salisbury Cathedral’s newest exhibition is a feast for the eyes. 12 beautifully colourful embroidered panels are hanging throughout the building, some are as large as 8ft by 11ft. The panels were made by Devon based textile artist Jacqui Parkinson who was inspired by the book of Genesis, the first book of the Bible that tells the 7-day the creation story. The vibrant pieces took three years to prepare and contain eight million stitches! The Threads Through Creation exhibition runs until 26th September.
Salisbury Comedy Club – Seann Walsh
This Sunday sees the launch of The Chapel Live with the first Salisbury Comedy Club instalment. The comedy nights kick-off with Seann Walsh, who’s a regular on comedy panel shows and was a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing in 2018. Get ready for some quick wit and lots of laughter this Sunday from 7pm.
Salisbury Arts Scene at The Greencroft
Head to Greencroft park for this month's Salisbury Art Scene, where local artists, artisans and musicians, from in and around the city showcase their skills. Support our thriving arts community and shop local with lots of stalls with products from photography, jewellery, art, wood, sculpture, glass pottery - and so much more! There will also be live music. At Greencroft Park Sunday 10am to 4pm.
