If you are already planning what to do with the children over half term, Wiltshire Creative has got lots of ideas.
They have announced a full line-up of activities and workshops, from pottery to craft and singing.
All of the events will take place at Salisbury Arts Centre but they are selling fast so take a look at the schedule below and book soon!
On Monday 21st February, join professional choir leaders, Lynsey Docherty and Tim Gilvin, exploring music from different genres and find out more about Wiltshire Youth Choir. Open to all young people, Come & Sing is for youngsters aged 12 to 18, who love to sing. No experience of sight reading is necessary. The session is free but places must be booked in advance.
If your children love music, this is perfect for them. Get Creative – Make Music is an engaging and fun introduction to music making for children aged 7 to 11 in partnership with Salisbury Area Young Musicians. They’ll be able to explore different musical activities and build music making skills, whether you have prior experience or not. Tickets cost from £5 and the workshop takes place on Wednesday 23rd February.
Join Salisbury Arts Centre for a craft session with Wiltshire Scrapstore that will keep your youngsters entertained. It’s open to 4 to 7 year old's and gives children the chance to develop their creativity in an inspiring and imaginative arts and craft session. There are three sessions available on Thursday 24th February with tickets costing £2 per child (adults do not require a ticket).
Experience the joy and fun of bringing stories alive with Lulu Sparre on Saturday 26th February. The Saturday Storytime sessions are suitable for ages 3 to 6. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets cost £2 per child (accompanying adult is free).
The SHIFT Social at Salisbury Arts Centre is an evening of live music from some of Salisbury’s most promising young bands. It's open to 14 to 21 year old's and is a brilliant opportunity to meet friends, or make new ones! The FREE event on 26th February is produced in association with Wiltshire Creative’s Young Ambassadors, a group of young people who meet monthly to ensure the programmes at Wiltshire Creative are relevant and exciting for youngsters in the local community.
If you are in need of a tea break after a busy half term workshop at Salisbury Arts Centre, make sure to take time out at the café. It will be open from Tuesday to Friday during half term, 10am to 2.30pm. There are drinks, snacks and light meals, with arts and crafts provided to keep sticky fingers busy!
