The Cathedral Close will be opening NINE of its secret gardens to the public on Sunday 28th May 2023 for a spectacular showcase of Spring.
These usually private plots will be open for ONE DAY ONLY as the public are invited in to view a host of flora and fauna from Salisbury's most luscious landscapes.
Friends of Salisbury Cathedral chair Duncan Glass said to Salisbury Journal “We are eagerly awaiting the end of May when we hold our flagship event, which is made possible by the generosity of residents of the Cathedral Close who kindly open their beautiful gardens for us.
“The Friends’ charity is the cathedral’s fan club and we look forward to welcoming visitors to our Secret Gardens of the Close event, safe in the knowledge that the money raised from ticket sales will fund important maintenance and preservation work at our wonderful medieval masterpiece.”
The event, running from 1pm-5pm, will see an exhibition of botanical art in Sarum College where artwork will be for sale, alongside cards and books produced by Salisbury Florilegium Society.
Entry to the enchanting event is £10 per person (under 16s go FREE), which is payable on the day at the tent on Choristers' Green.
