A Night of Music

Come along to the Night of Music on Saturday 14th September 2024 at St Thomas’s Church, Salisbury. The doors and a bar will open at 6pm and the concert will start at 6.30pm

The Night of Music will be a fantastic musical feast featuring a variety of music from classical to jazz to pop with orchestras, bands and ensembles made up of children and adults performing together throughout. There will be the Night of Music Concert Band and Jazz Band conducted by Dave Andrews and The Night of Music Choir conducted by Polly Jacobs as well as various brilliant ensemble and solo performances.

All Creatures Great and Small: A service of blessing for our pets

Aimed at children and their families, this relaxed service will include readings, music and prayers on the theme of creation and care for animals.

Everyone is welcome to come along with their pets, or a photo of their favourite animal. The service will include music by John Rutter and Andrew Carter, and from the pop cantata Captain Noah and his Floating Zoo, sung by the Cathedral choristers and the Junior Choir.

Take a step back into the 1940s with the world-famous Glenn Miller Orchestra for the ultimate musical celebration of the legendary big band leader, Glenn Miller.

The UK’s only official Glenn Miller tour features the exact line-up devised by Glenn, alongside the fabulous harmonies of the Moonlight Serenaders, the sublime vocals of the orchestra’s featured vocalists, as well the orchestra’s own swinging jazz band, The Uptown Hall Gang.
