Salisbury Musical Society (SMS) is hosting a study day on learning to sing. This will be a fun day with tips about reading music, how it all fits together, the mysteries of rhythms, pitching tricky intervals and understanding the difference between simple and compound time. As well as exploring the theoretical side of music, there will also be plenty of opportunity to sing. All music will be provided.
David Halls (Director of Music, Salisbury Cathedral), the conductor of SMS, will lead the day and will be assisted by Hilary Jones, the widely respected vocal coach of the Cathedral's choristers.
The day is open to people with all levels of ability. Children between 16 and 18 are especially welcome and can attend for free but must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket.
